Vintage Camera weekend Workshop

I will plan a small workshop to allow 2-3 people to experience the process of taking pictures with my old vintage reflex camera’s, and using vintage lenses on modern digital camera’s, this is a one to one lesson session based activity at the learning centre in Sheung Shai near the border to mainland China where I teach part-time.

There is an ongoing trend with things nostalgic and vintage and the use of old and new combined, here in Hong Kong, which runs through the theme of my project work.

Some examples of this are the emergence of many websites offering the services of camera workshops and the sale second-hand cameras and related products. (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.

This is a particularly challenging activity as the participants are not native English speaking so obviously I will use my experience at the learning centre to help. And as my own Cantonese is limited so this is going to be interesting to see how I can use visual and hands-on examples.  So this is why the group is small so I can be more hands-on and visually show them what they can do themselves.

The project is related to my own new experience and new skills I have acquired since week 2 with these vintage cameras. and my own knowledge of vintage lenses. These cameras have slowed me down to consider more now.

Will request feedback when completed
